| Sharpening Your Edge While Calming Your Mind |
Since ancient times in China, spiritual retreat practice had been viewed as a very mysterious activity. It is a way to isolate oneself from being disturbed by the day to day bustle of life & society and to concentrate one’s mind and energy on practice, study and other forms of mental and spiritual improvement.
Shaolin monks have had this tradition for thousands of years. The masters would periodically take a retreat practice to recharge themselves, to speed up their progress, and to reach a higher level of their practice.
In order to provide a great opportunity for Kung Fu enthusiasts to learn about the essence of traditional shaolin kung fu---“Chan Wu”, as well as Chinese culture, we have set up a retreat program in the Hui Jiao Zen (Chan) Buddhist Monastery in the Bailu Mountains. This program will be held on site in the monastery with a beautiful mountain setting complete with breathtaking views, ancient trees, fresh air and natural spring water. Students will live with the monks of the temple, share their monastery grown organic vegetarian meals and practice with them. In addition to the learning of Shaolin wugulun kung fu, we have arranged for various expert lecturers to give talks on Buddhism, Confucianism and Daoism in order to provide students with a deeper understanding of the philosophical foundations of their practice and of Chinese culture. There will also be courses on meditation, and opportunities for solo retreats in the mountains to develop deeper meditation skills to support their Kung Fu practice.
The retreat program will start from the 25th July to 14th August 2012,covers three weeks in total.
Price: 12,800 RMB
